It's been a terribly busy couple of weeks. I have been getting seed orders in for the spring and getting the house "de-Christmas-ed", as well as battling the flu.
I've already exceeded my annual seed budget for the year by $10. This is going to be the year of the perennials. My latest order ---from a new-to-me company "Swallowtail Garden Seeds" was the one that pushed me over. Wow. I've never heard of them before, but had done a google search for a perennial seed I couldn't find, and the next thing I knew, I had $36 worth of seeds.
I have absolutely NO self control in the dead of winter. I SWORE this wasn't going to happen, but, well...................................
Anyways----excellent service ---FAST shipping (less than 1 week) and I happened to have caught a free shipping deal, so double Woo-hoo!
I am going to take my newly dug and prepared East Border (4ft x 32ft) and plant it with ONLY perennials raised by me. That should be an interesting undertaking.
I also have my orders in for potato sets, onion sets, and three batches (25 ct) of strawberries.
I am DONE. Yea!! And all before the new year. Now, the cataloges that come in are just good reads. With a few markings and notes for later. Unless I can steal some of the household money. Just kidding. Maybe.
:)
Also, I am no longer posting to this blog after the 1st of January. You can find the NEW garden notes here:
http://suesgardenjournal.blogspot.com/ I won't be posting at the new one until Mid-January--when I drag the geraniums up from the basement, and also begin winter-sowing. I DO , however, have my seed lists up, and projects list (in case you want to peek at this years' madness) And THAT is ONLY going to be gardening posts. I got off track here and have come to regret that. I did also make a space for all the other clutter that is my life.
You can find that here:
That will be photography, deep thoughts, travel......you know.....the OTHER stuff! I will be posting my favorite pics from last year there really really soon. Please take a gander.
Thanks to all who have read this. I deeply appreciate it, just as I also really really appreciate reading all of your blogs. The ideas that I get from you guys is , well, amazing. Thank you!!
